Tom is one of the marketing communications industry’s most connected and respected talent acquisition leaders. With more than 11 years’ experience across multi-disciplinary businesses, Tom now leads the recruitment and talent strategy for the region’s leading creative transformation company, WPP AUNZ.
Tom is committed to the important role talent acquisition plays in supporting diversity in the workplace. In the search for outstanding talent to join WPP AUNZ, Tom has introduced a robust and inclusive approach to recruitment practices to eliminate bias and attract diversity of experience, thought and expertise.
Outside of work, Tom has been involved in activism and politics since high school. Raised in New Zealand in a family of educators, Tom lives by the philosophy that everyone deserves a fair go – access to opportunity to live a full and rewarding life. He has worked on a range of social justice and human rights issues on both sides of the Tasman.
Tom’s first role in Australia was at Mission Australia, one of the leading NGO’s in action against homelessness. For nearly a decade, he has joined hundreds of volunteers in the (successful) fight for Marriage Equality. Tom continues to work with other community groups in Sydney, and is passionate about addressing some of the unique issues faced by at risk Gay, Lesbian and Transgender individuals in the community – especially PLHIV.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from the Auckland University of Technology. He is a member of Australia’s RL100 – a group of 100 recruitment leaders and is an Accredited Professional Recruiter (APRCSA).
